Biden’s EV Push Risks Sending California into Energy Crisis

Biden’s latest move for California is a gift that some liken to fruitcake—unwanted but not entirely surprising. In his desperate bid to leave a lasting mark, President Biden has handed California the regulatory green light to accelerate its plan to eliminate gas-powered vehicles by 2035. The latest action from the Democrat-controlled EPA appears more like a recipe for disaster than a well-thought-out policy. With electric vehicle sales set to hit 35% by 2026, Californians will soon find themselves caught in a high-voltage reality check.

But let’s take a look at the realities. California’s energy grid is already teetering under the weight of its current demands, so where’s the logic in pushing for a flood of electric vehicles into the state? Of course, this is all part of a larger Democrat dream; they think they can just wish away the laws of physics and market demand. With the state importing nearly 30% of its electricity from neighboring states and eyeing a future of 100% electric vehicle sales, the only thing that’s certain is that the lights might just go out—literally.

The reality is, while California might think it’s going green by mandating electric cars, it’s merely shifting the carbon emissions problem to other states. Every time a Californian boasts about their “clean” new electric vehicle, likely being charged by coal-fired plants in Arizona, an energy producer elsewhere could be seen grinning. It takes a special kind of ignorance to believe that simply moving emissions from one location to another counts as a successful environmental policy. Think of California as the ultimate environmental hipster, drinking overpriced organic lattes at their solar-powered cafes while blissfully ignoring where their actual energy comes from.

As for the infrastructure required to support this green revolution? That’s a bridge (or charging station) too far for California lawmakers. There don’t seem to be any concrete plans to modernize the power grid to meet this reckless ambition. Still, the Democrats have never been known for sticking to reality when it comes to their environmental utopias. With a timeline that reads more like a wish list than a legitimate plan, rolling blackouts may soon become a California staple—almost as familiar as selfies with the latest EV model.

Biden’s whimsical policy decisions mirror the Liberal approach to governance: let the state make bold claims about eco-friendliness while ignoring the fundamentals of energy supply. Conservatives are left wondering whether the Trump administration will intervene to save California from its own misguided decisions, or if it should simply step back and let the state fully embrace its self-inflicted path to environmental oblivion. Like a patient at the emergency room clinging to life, California appears to be committed to its “clean-energy” sanctum, regardless of the dire consequences—just don’t expect any help when the power grid collapses. If the state wants to embrace its vision of a solar-powered future, it’s best not to alert them if the defibrillator isn’t fully charged.
