Joe Biden’s recent speech in Nevada took a turn for the worse when he stumbled over his words and told a story about meeting with foreign leaders, including one who has been dead for almost 30 years. Not only that, he even got the guy’s country wrong. As conservative commentator Graham Allen pointed out, this is not a good sign for the president.
The speech, which was filled with criticism of former President Donald Trump, was meant to showcase Biden’s relationship with foreign leaders. However, he ended up embarrassing himself by sharing a story that didn’t make much sense. According to the White House transcript, Biden mentioned attending a G7 meeting with NATO leaders in the south of England, where he proclaimed that “America is back.” He then claimed that French President Mitterrand responded by asking how long he would be back for.

There’s just one problem – Mitterrand hasn’t been in office since 1995 and died in 1996. The leader Biden was actually referring to, as corrected in the White House transcript, was French President Emmanuel Macron, who has been in office since 2017. It’s clear that Biden’s grasp of reality is tenuous, to say the least.
This isn’t the first time Biden has made a fool of himself in public. Whether it’s telling false stories about a fire at his home or trying to find a deceased congresswoman, he has repeatedly shown that he is disconnected from reality. It’s concerning that the Democratic Party continues to support him, but it’s not surprising given their lack of viable alternatives. The establishment media is also complicit in propping up Biden and avoiding any negative coverage that might sway voters.
Ultimately, Biden’s biggest weakness is himself. He had the opportunity to convince voters that he is fit for the job, but instead, he only solidified their doubts. As the 2024 election approaches, it’s crucial that Americans remain vigilant and fight to preserve the integrity of our democracy. We cannot afford to lose our country to incompetence and deceit.
