Biden’s Gloomy Morehouse Speech Paints America as Villain Critics Say

President Joe Biden gave a commencement speech at Morehouse College in Atlanta and boy, did he paint a gloomy picture of our beloved country. He talked about how George Floyd’s murder shook things up and made people question if democracy is really for everyone. Biden pondered aloud what democracy even means if black men are being killed and left behind in broken communities. He even questioned what it means to be a black man who loves his country when he feels it doesn’t love him back enough. The crowd seemed to love it, but was it all just political pandering?

Some students weren’t feeling the love, though. There were reports of graduates turning their backs on Biden during his speech. Some even wore keffiyeh scarves to show solidarity with Palestinians. I mean, come on, can’t a commencement ceremony just be about throwing caps in the air anymore without politics getting in the way?

Biden didn’t stop with race relations at the speech, oh no. He also talked about the conflict between Israel and Hamas. While he did condemn the attack on Israel, he seemed to focus more on Gaza’s humanitarian crisis and called for an immediate ceasefire. Some critics say he wasn’t tough enough on Hamas. But hey, at least he didn’t forget to mention voting rights – a hot topic these days.

All in all, Biden’s speech seemed to be a blend of race issues, international conflicts, and political appeals. Whether you love him or not, one thing’s for sure – he knows how to stir the pot and get people talking. Love him or hate him, he certainly knows how to steal the spotlight.
