The Biden-Harris administration has taken a masterclass in political doublespeak that might make even the most seasoned spin doctors blush. Throughout their presidency, the duo has ramped up their violent rhetoric against former President Donald Trump, even going so far as to unleash a barrage of Hitler comparisons and Nazi labels onto him and his supporters. All of this toxic talk has created a toxic brew of rhetoric that some could argue contributed to attempts on Trump’s life. Sadly for the Democrats, their own narrative has come back to bite them.
In a stunning about-face that could make a gymnast jealous, President Biden recently congratulated Trump on his Election Day victory and called for a peaceful power transfer. This is the same administration that not long ago painted Trump as the harbinger of doom, claiming voting for him would mean the end of democracy as we know it. Now, all of a sudden, they expect the public to forget the inflammatory statements that had been their bread and butter for years. Only the most naive would swallow this change of heart without a grain of salt, or perhaps a whole salt shaker.
A reporter had the audacity to push back against this sudden shift in tone, highlighting the glaring hypocrisy in Biden’s remarks. Just days prior, the President was warning that Trump’s presidency would spell disaster for the nation, yet he now urges everyone to “lower the political temperature.” The blatant inconsistency of these statements could easily be the centerpiece for the next political roast—if only the administration could take a joke, which doesn’t seem likely given their penchant for releasing the hounds whenever someone questions their integrity.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre took to the defense, proclaiming the president’s “obligation to be honest” with the people. In what seemed a mixed message, she insisted that the American people had made their choice by electing Biden while also downplaying the fearmongering that had dominated their narratives for months. The press secretary appeared almost flustered when she reiterated the need for a peaceful transition of power, as if that concept had suddenly materialized from thin air rather than being the bedraggled ideal that had been whisked away in the winds of partisan strife.
Meanwhile, Trump raked in a historic victory that the left is still grappling with. He didn’t just win; he swept the board with both the popular and electoral votes, snagging every swing state and even some of the disheartened Democrat strongholds. The left can jiggle the numbers and twist facts all they want, but they can’t erase the stark reality that voters are shifting their allegiance away from Harris. While the Biden-Harris crew tries to spin this into a “both sides” narrative, it’s clear that the administration’s own verbal landmines are blowing up in their faces, and it’s increasingly difficult for them to justify their rhetoric in the face of electoral defeat.
