The Biden Administration is once again trying to undermine the efforts of Texas Governor Greg Abbott. He has been working incredibly hard to keep illegal aliens away from the country, but they can’t stand by and see this happen.
The US government has protected two mussel species in the Rio Grande. This move is part of the Biden Administration's strategy to prevent Abbott from using his buoys along the border with Mexico. It's a political move that the left is using to try and stop him from carrying out his plans.
Dawn Buckingham, the commissioner of the Texas General Land Office, called out the Biden Administration for using the Endangered Species Act as a tool for political purposes. Instead of focusing on conservation, they're more concerned with pushing their own agenda. This is just another example of how the Biden Administration is out of control and doesn't care about the rule of law.
The FWS announced that two freshwater mussels will be listed as endangered. They claimed that the population is expected to decline in the future. However, this is just another attempt to stop Abbott from carrying out his efforts to secure the border.
The Biden Administration's plan would require Abbott to remove the buoys from the water if they're successful. Doing so would hinder his efforts and prevent him from deploying future devices. It's clear that the Democrats are trying to prevent Abbott from doing his job properly.
Jodey Arrington, the Republican chairman of the House Budget Committee, has criticized the actions of Biden regarding the removal of the buoys. He noted that the Vice President does not have a problem with allowing illegal immigrants to cross the border, but he suddenly cares more about protecting freshwater mussels. It's clear that his priorities are not the people of the country.
In July, the US Department of Justice tried to prevent Abbott from deploying his water buoys along the border. The agency claimed that they could threaten public safety and navigation. However, it's clear that they're only interested in stopping the Republican governor from protecting the country. They'll use every excuse they can to try and shut him down.
It is shameful that the Biden Administration would use environmental issues as a smokescreen in their attempt to stop Abbott's efforts to secure the US-Mexico border. While they claim to care about issues such as humanitarian concerns, where were their thoughts when millions of people were trampling the habitat of a critically endangered species while they were illegally crossing the Rio? It's another example of their hypocrisy.
Let's not allow the Biden Administration to misdirect Abbott's efforts to secure our borders. Strong leaders such as Abbott are needed to stand up for the country's borders. It's time for the Democrats to stop playing politics and focus on the security of the American citizens.
