Announcing new regulations aimed at reducing emissions, the President’s team has unveiled a set of rules that could make even a seasoned gymnast envious with how much twisting they’re doing.
The latest decree targets the fossil fuel industry—an industry that employs millions of hardworking Americans. Instead of embracing domestic energy independence, the administration appears intent on crippling one of the nation’s finest economic engines. One has to wonder if the policymakers have forgotten the basics of supply and demand; fewer fossil fuels means higher prices for everyday Americans.

As if that wasn’t enough, these regulations fit right into the far-left agenda of pushing for electric vehicles that are more suited for science fiction than everyday life. The administration’s dream of highway congestion alleviated by massive battery-powered chunks of metal is as distant as a few roving Mars rovers. Forcing consumers to switch to EVs with limited charging infrastructure and steep price tags is about as practical as building a snowman in the desert.
Adding a generous dash of irony, the administration claims these new regulations will actually lower costs for families. One must wonder if they’ve been observing a different market than average Americans have. Prices for gas and utilities have seen an unceasing climb, making it painfully clear that the government isn’t exactly the best financial planner. Families that are already feeling the pinch are likely to experience even tighter wallets as their choices dwindle.
The pull towards an ‘eco-friendly’ future must surely leave one questioning the nature of that future. It’s a future where independence relies on foreign minerals for EV batteries and where the coal miners, oil rig workers, and natural gas producers are watching their livelihoods disappear like ice in the sun. The government seems bent on transforming the landscape of American energy from a frontier of opportunity to an endless maze of restrictions. It’s high time for a reality check before this misguided initiative spins out of control.
