Biden’s Pet Issues: Americans Can’t Be Bothered, Strategists Reveal!

President Joe Biden and his administration are facing challenges in connecting with the American people and gaining support for their key initiatives, according to GOP strategists. The White House's messaging on Biden's economic strategy, the EV tax credit, and funding for Ukraine is perceived to have backfired, creating a disconnect between the president and voters. GOP adviser Scott Jennings criticized the administration for focusing on issues that may not be a priority for most people, including inflation, electric vehicles, violent crime, and antisemitism. Jennings argued that Biden's statements make him appear out of touch, especially given his age.

Despite the White House's efforts to promote "Bidenomics" by highlighting low unemployment rates and decreasing inflation rates, polls indicate that 75% of U.S. adults believe the economy is in a "fair" or "poor" state, and 61% are living paycheck-to-paycheck. Only 16% of Americans think the economy is improving, while 56% believe it is getting worse.

Biden's EV tax credit program, offering a $7,500 tax credit for electric vehicles, has not gained significant traction among the public. A poll by BlueLabs Analytics shows that only 22% of Americans have heard a substantial amount about this tax credit, and just 10% would consider purchasing an electric vehicle. GOP consultant Mark R. Weaver criticized Biden for what he perceives as an attempt to force electric vehicles on the American people, likening it to being compelled to eat broccoli.

Furthermore, support for funding to Ukraine has declined among the American people, with 35% disagreeing with sending weapons to the country. The administration's steadfast support for Ukraine, despite public opinion, is causing a rift with the American people. Additionally, Biden is losing support for his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict, with 32% of Americans believing that the U.S. should support Israel, representing a nine-point drop from October.

Overall, dissatisfaction with Biden's presidency is primarily attributed to his handling of the economy. The disparity between the administration's messaging and the reality experienced by voters is eroding confidence in Biden's ability to address other issues effectively. There is a growing sense of frustration from the White House as they seek public buy-in for their messaging.
