President Biden declared January as Human Trafficking Prevention Month, enraging critics as he continues to face backlash over the record-breaking surge of illegal border crossings. As the President sips piña coladas in St. Croix, his proclamation for “safe, orderly, and humane migration” is ludicrous considering the mayhem at the southern border that has resulted from his failed policies.

Former acting director of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Tom Homan, expressed his disgust, highlighting Biden’s role in enriching human traffickers due to his lax border enforcement. With over 276,000 individuals detained for illegal crossings in just 27 days, it’s no surprise that former acting commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection, Mark Morgan, condemned Biden’s open border policies that have led to an unprecedented surge in illegal immigration.
Biden’s statement acknowledging the global threat of human trafficking and forced labor holds no weight when his administration’s policies have essentially fueled the world’s largest human smuggling operation. While the White House talks about addressing root causes and bringing traffickers to justice, the reality on the ground tells a different story – one of overwhelmed border patrol agents and rampant cartels exploiting vulnerable migrants for profit.
The situation is dire, with reports of unaccompanied children being forced into labor at meat plants, individuals indebted to their smugglers, and a significant lack of resources to combat the surge in illegal border crossings. These harrowing stories paint a vivid picture of the failures of the Biden administration’s immigration policies.
With illegal border crossings reaching an all-time high and the continued failure to secure the border, Biden’s declaration of Human Trafficking Prevention Month seems more like a smokescreen to distract from his administration’s mishandling of immigration.
