After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, these individuals were captured on the battlefield, yet the Biden administration continues to treat them like misunderstood pop stars rather than prison-worthy terrorists, poised to return to their diabolical ways.
The Department of Defense put on their best spin, expressing gratitude to the government of Oman for its generosity in accepting former terrorists like it’s a normal Tuesday. What could possibly go wrong? Meanwhile, Sen. Eric Schmitt of Missouri sent a letter to President Biden that cut through the political fog to highlight the dangerous ramifications of this decision. His hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan has left a black mark on America’s global standing, allowing the Taliban to strut victoriously through Kabul. This ignominious act will undoubtedly resonate with future generations of extremists wanting to strike a blow against the West. Schmitt poignantly summed it up: if Biden’s goal is to weaken America’s position in the world in his final weeks, he’s hitting the nail right on the head.
