When Sleepy Joe and his liberal friends decided to drain the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) for political gain, nobody was surprised. It’s the same old song and dance from the left: make a mess and then blame everyone else for it. Now, after causing gas prices to skyrocket to unprecedented levels, the Biden administration is suddenly “realizing” that maybe it’s not such a bright idea to leave the emergency supply bone-dry.
'Too Expensive': Biden Cancels Plan to Refill Strategic Petroleum Reserve https://t.co/JmxjfdtapC

Biden’s disastrous “build back better” plan turned into “Bidenomics” quicker than you can say “higher taxes.” The White House, in a rare moment of clarity, acknowledged that the prices were just too darn high to even think about refilling the emergency supply. At least they got something right, even if it was by accident.
The U.S. Department of Energy gave the feeble excuse that abandoning the SPR refill plan is somehow in the interest of taxpayers. It’s the first time the Biden administration has shown any concern for the hardworking Americans who are struggling to afford gas. Biden and his climate alarmists had been all gung-ho about buying 3 million barrels of oil for the reserve, but now that plan has been tossed out the window.
From the get-go, Biden’s energy policies have been a complete disaster. He started off by trying to obliterate America’s energy independence, and the consequences were felt as gas prices soared to astronomical levels. Instead of taking responsibility, Biden pointed fingers at other countries and tried to beg OPEC for more oil. But let’s be real here, if we were still energy independent, this wouldn’t even be an issue.
As the midterm elections approached, Biden decided to deplete the emergency reserves – reserves that were meant to protect us from the chaos of foreign conflicts and natural disasters – all to cover up for his own failures. Then, he had the nerve to promise that he’d refill the SPR at a profit for taxpayers. Yeah, right. How’s that working out for us, Joe?
Now, after failing to keep his word on refilling the reserves, Biden is backtracking on his pledge, leaving the emergency supply more than half-empty. With global conflicts heating up, this is the worst possible time for America to be unprepared with its oil reserves. But who’s surprised? It’s just Biden being Biden.
