The task force, now operational, wasted no time in sending letters to high-profile officials, including Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray, demanding staff-level briefings to unpack the latest details surrounding the attempted shooting. Apparently, no one in the government was paying attention when an attempt was made on the life of a former president. So, now, lawmakers want to sift through countless documents to understand how this was allowed to happen in the first place.
