In a recent spectacle that could only be dreamed up by the leftist elite, Episcopalian Bishop Mariann Budde took to the stage during the National Prayer Service, a moment that should have been devoted to genuine unity and reflection. Instead, she turned it into a political soapbox aimed at President Donald Trump, spewing liberal talking points on LGBTQ+ issues and immigration. The next day, she graced the set of ABC’s “The View,” where the show’s radical co-hosts, known for their unabashed disdain for Trump, showered her with praise like she was some sort of religious rock star.
Joy Behar, the queen of anti-Trump sentiment, wasted no time lauding Budde’s so-called bravery. The applause was as predictable as a kitten video going viral on the internet. Despite the event’s focus on prayer and reflection, Budde decided to strut her virtue, claiming her sermon was meant to emphasize the importance of treating everyone with dignity and respect. It was an opportunity for unity, in theory. In practice, it was a thinly veiled attack that left many wondering if Budde had confused that sacred space with a progressive rally.
While Budde chattered on about mercy and understanding, one has to wonder if she took a moment to consider the ramifications of her words. If she truly wanted to discuss unity, then maybe she could have mentioned the importance of valuing every human life — particularly in the context of abortion. Instead, she tiptoed around the issue, which her church has historically avoided, opting to focus on illegal immigrants and their supposed need for mercy. The same bishop who claims the need for respect and compassion was glaringly silent on the dignity of the unborn.
Of Course Liberal Bishop Mariann Budde Went on 'The View' After Sermon Targeting Trump https://t.co/29iMl1MOf3

The surreal irony continued to unfold as Budde claimed she was countering divisive narratives with her outburst against Trump, all while delivering that very same divisiveness herself. She chose a setting designed for interfaith respect and utilized it as a platform to preach her own brand of political correctness. Her accusations against the President were not only unwarranted but cowardly, as they offered him no chance to rebut her rhetoric in real time. This sermon was filled with nothing but empty platitudes, all drizzled in peppering self-righteousness.
Of course, after such a display, one can’t help but wonder how the National Cathedral—once a space for all faiths—could host an event that so blatantly strayed from its purpose. In the aftermath of this convenient politicization, calls have arisen to revoke the cathedral’s tax-exempt status, led by figures like Jack Posobiec. The idea is simple: if the cathedral wants to serve liberal agendas and ignore the diverse beliefs of its congregation, perhaps it should start paying its fair share like the rest of us. In the end, the National Prayer Service was turned into another leftist lecture, leaving many wondering if they should pray for the church’s leaders rather than for unity.
