Black Friday sees Unprecedented Surge in Gun Checks: Safeguarding America!

The FBI had a busy day on Black Friday, conducting a record-breaking number of background checks on November 24, 2023. A whopping 214,913 checks were performed, surpassing last year’s 192,749 checks by a long shot. It seems like people were itching to get their hands on some firearms this year.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reported that a total of 680,671 background checks related to firearms were conducted throughout the entire week of Black Friday. That’s a whole lot of people wanting to exercise their Second Amendment rights!

Now, it’s important to note that these background checks don’t directly translate into the number of guns actually sold. The checks are done on the buyers, not the firearms themselves. And if a person passes a background check, they can buy multiple guns. So, while 214,913 checks were performed, it’s hard to say exactly how many guns were sold. It could be 214,913 guns if each buyer bought just one, or if everyone bought a pair of firearms, it could be a staggering 429,826 guns sold.

But hey, who can blame Americans for wanting to exercise their right to bear arms? The Second Amendment is all about protecting ourselves and our loved ones, and it’s comforting to know that people are taking that responsibility seriously. So go ahead and exercise your right, America! Just remember to do it responsibly and safely.
