Blind Side” Star Fights Tuohy Family in Court Over Adoption Fallout

Former NFL player Michael Oher, who was featured in the movie “The Blind Side,” is making some serious accusations against the Tuohy family. Oher claims that they never actually adopted him, despite the fact that they portrayed themselves as his adoptive parents for years. Wow, talk about a plot twist!

Oher filed a petition in a Tennessee probate court, alleging that the Tuohys tricked him into signing papers that made them his conservators instead of his adoptive parents. According to Oher’s petition, he was never informed that the conservatorship would give the Tuohys complete control over his contracts. This means that Oher might have unknowingly given up his right to negotiate his own deals. Yikes!

Not only does Oher want the conservatorship terminated, but he’s also seeking a full accounting of the money made from using his name and story. He wants to be paid in full, with interest. Oher seems pretty determined to make sure he gets what he feels is rightfully his.

To make matters more intense, Oher is demanding compensatory and punitive damages from the Tuohys. He feels like they have profited off of him by falsely claiming to be his adoptive parents. Ouch! That’s gotta hurt.

While the Tuohys have stayed relatively quiet about the allegations, they did mention that they would terminate the conservatorship if that’s what Oher wants. They insist that they never intended to make money off any of their children, including Oher. But hey, talk is cheap. Let’s see if their actions match their words.

It’s a shame that Oher’s relationship with the Tuohys has taken such a dramatic turn. After all, they were supposed to be his family. Regardless of who’s right or wrong, it’s clear that this situation has caused a lot of hurt and disappointment. Let’s hope that Oher and the Tuohys can find a resolution that brings them some peace.
