Secretary of State Antony Blinken couldn’t help but show his true feelings during President Biden’s press conference following his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. A reporter asked Biden if he still considered Xi a dictator, a term he had used before. And without missing a beat, Biden confirmed that yes, Xi is indeed a dictator. Now, normally this wouldn’t be surprising, considering Xi’s track record of human rights abuses and his Communist regime. But Blinken, being the good boy that he is, did not seem pleased with Biden’s candid response.

I mean, let’s be real here. Xi Jinping is a genocidal tyrant who is best buddies with the likes of Putin, Kim Jong-un, and the Ayatollah. He’s leading a new axis of evil, for crying out loud! So why is Blinken so upset that Biden called him a dictator? Maybe it’s because the Biden administration is trying to cozy up to China, despite their clear intentions of dominating the world. I don’t know about you, but I would rather have a president who stands up to dictators than one who tries to make nice with them.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time that Blinken has had to clean up after Biden’s loose lips. When Russia invaded Ukraine, Biden went off-script and said that Putin “cannot remain in power.” Oops! Blinken had to quickly backtrack and clarify that the US has no plans of trying to overthrow the Russian regime. And let’s not forget when Biden accidentally promised military intervention in defense of Taiwan during a speech. Oops, again! The White House had to step in and say that Biden didn’t really mean what he said.
Look, I get it. Biden likes to ramble and say things without thinking. But as the leader of the free world, he should probably choose his words more carefully. We don’t need a president who constantly needs to be corrected by his staff. We need a strong leader who can stand up to our enemies and protect American interests. Sadly, it seems like Blinken is stuck playing babysitter while Biden plays president. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.
