To bravely fight the huge number of illegal immigrants coming across the southern border, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) is going to offer a bill that would let border states deport illegal immigrants and build walls. This news comes at a time when the Biden Administration is still fighting with states, especially Texas, over how they are trying to deal with the problem.

Hawley's bill, which he calls "The State Border Defense Act," would let California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas build barriers on land and in rivers to stop people from coming in illegally. This bill builds on earlier efforts to give states more power to enforce federal immigration rules.
The fact that the government is suing Texas for putting up razor wire fencing along the Rio Grande in Eagle Pass and a water-based barrier shows how important this bill is. At first, a federal judge told Texas to take down the barrier in the water, but later, a federal appeals court agreed with the Lone Star State and let the buoy stay while the case is still being heard. In the same way, Arizona had to take down a makeshift wall after the government sued them over it.
Officials in Texas have said that the Biden Administration is not doing its job because of this unusual rise. While Governor Greg Abbott has taken steps to deal with the problem by calling up the state's national guard and telling police to stop illegal entries, Border Patrol agents have been caught cutting holes in fences and even fist bumping with illegal immigrants to make it easier for them to get in.
In an interview with Fox News, Senator Hawley emphasized how important this bill is and how quickly the situation needs to be fixed. He said, "Our southern border is overrun…" Every day, Joe Biden's risky policies of open borders make things worse, and places like Missouri have to deal with the results. The states should be able to enforce our immigration rules since the federal government won't.
Border agents have seen over two million illegal entries for the second year in a row, so this bill couldn't come at a worse time. To regain control of our border and protect the sovereignty of the United States, we need to move quickly.
