Last week, those tireless Border Patrol agents did it again, folks! They seized over $250,000 worth of methamphetamine during a vehicle stop at the California-Mexico border. That’s right, they intercepted a blue pickup truck on Interstate 8 close to the Buckman Springs exit, and discovered a whopping 188 pounds of crystal-like meth in at least four large duffel bags in the truck’s bed. Can you believe the audacity of these drug traffickers trying to sneak that much meth into our country?
The agents didn’t miss a beat as they called in a K-9 team that sniffed out the narcotics with ease. These highly trained dogs have a nose for trouble, and they certainly delivered this time. After some testing, it was confirmed that the seizure was worth an estimated $281,940! The driver and the drugs were promptly turned over to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation, and the vehicle was seized by Border Patrol. That’s a win for our side, folks!

And this isn’t an isolated incident. Chief Patrol Agent Patricia D. McGurk-Daniel proudly reported that the Border Patrol San Diego Sector has been on a roll, seizing more than 1,800 pounds of meth, 111 pounds of heroin, 2,100 pounds of cocaine, and 1,285 pounds of fentanyl in fiscal 2023. That’s a lot of dangerous drugs taken off our streets and out of our communities, thanks to the hard work of our Border Patrol agents. They truly are the unsung heroes of our country.
So, here’s a big round of applause for our Border Patrol for keeping our neighborhoods safe and standing strong against the tide of illegal drugs pouring over our border. It’s a tough job, but they’re getting it done!
