Bossie Ditches RNC Trump Coronation Bid Amid GOP Clash!

A member of the Republican National Committee, Dave Bossie from Maryland, has decided to withdraw a draft resolution that aimed to declare former President Donald Trump as the presumptive nominee for the 2024 presidential election. This move came in the face of strong opposition not only from Trump but also from a vocal group of critics.

Bossie pulled back the resolution after acknowledging the significant dissatisfaction and conflict it generated. The resolution was based on Trump's successes in Iowa and New Hampshire, as well as his leading position in opinion polls over former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley. It argued that Haley had no realistic chance of securing the nomination and underscored the importance of preparing for a potential head-to-head battle with President Joe Biden.

Upon the revelation of the proposed resolution, Haley's spokeswoman, Olivia Perez-Cubas, dismissed its relevance, emphasizing that the decision about the party's presidential nominee should be in the hands of millions of Republican voters rather than a small circle of influential figures in Washington.

Trump himself weighed in on Truth Social, expressing gratitude for the RNC's desire to designate him as the presumptive nominee. However, he suggested, for the sake of party unity, that the nomination process should unfold through the traditional electoral ballot. Trump appreciated the respect and support from the RNC and concluded his message with a confident "TRUMP2024."

Ultimately, the resolution was not considered at the RNC's winter meeting, indicating that the party has opted to keep the 2024 presidential nomination open, allowing it to be determined through the traditional election process.
