Boulder, Colorado—once hailed as a progressive sanctuary city—is now a grim reminder of what happens when liberalism runs wild and security takes a backseat. The recent terror attack, carried out by Mohamed Sabry Soliman, is not some isolated event or “lone wolf” incident as the left-wing media would have you believe. It’s the direct, predictable consequence of years of soft-on-crime policies, failed immigration enforcement, and a culture that openly embraces lawlessness as a virtue.
Soliman, an Egyptian national illegally residing in the United States, was allowed to plot an attack on American soil for over a year. How could this happen? Because in places like Boulder, enforcing the law—from immigration regulations to homeland security—is treated like a bad thing. Sanctuary city policies don’t protect Americans; they protect lawbreakers and give terrorists a safe zone to operate in. The FBI has confirmed his illegal status, and the Department of Homeland Security is only now scrambling to respond. This disaster was avoidable, and it screams of liberal negligence from coast to coast.
Make no mistake—the true crime here isn’t only Soliman’s violence. It’s the system designed to let him in and keep him here unchecked. The Obama-Biden years dismantled what little border security we had, leaving the country vulnerable. Democrat-run cities then lock their doors to federal law enforcement, nicknaming it “progress.” But it’s exactly the opposite. It’s a surrender, a welcoming committee for terrorists and criminals alike. Americans are paying with their safety, but the politically correct elites don’t care until tragedy strikes in their own backyard.

What’s even more revolting is the target chosen by Soliman—a peaceful vigil supporting Jewish hostages taken by Hamas. This was a premeditated act born from pure hate, yet the left still tries to spin it as anything but what it is: a terror attack on American soil. The silence from the usual suspects on the left is deafening. No heartfelt condemnations, just the usual calls to “understand” or “address root causes,” code words for “ignore the threat.” This is the same playbook they follow every time: sympathy for the criminal, suspicion for the victim.
The truth is glaring. Our borders are wide open, and sanctuary cities are harboring threats instead of keeping their citizens safe. Until we bring back strong immigration laws and end these reckless policies that treat enforcement like a crime, attacks like the one in Boulder will only continue. When will liberals stop playing political games and start putting Americans first? If they won’t, we’ll have to ask ourselves: how many more innocents have to be hurt before common sense prevails?
