Another day, another attack on our brave police officers. Five heroes in blue were gunned down in York County, Pennsylvania while doing their job to keep us safe. Three officers from the Northern York Regional Police are fighting for their lives in grave condition. One more officer is in critical condition but expected to survive.
These officers were simply serving a warrant when some criminal decided to open fire on them. A sheriff’s deputy was also hurt in this senseless attack. Our law enforcement officers risk everything every single day to protect our families and communities. This is the thanks they get.
The coward who shot these officers took the easy way out with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He chose violence over facing justice like a man. Now our taxpayers won’t even get to see this criminal face trial for his heinous crimes against our police.
Governor Josh Shapiro showed up at the scene talking about how “we need to do better as a society.” That’s typical liberal talk that misses the point completely. We don’t have a society problem – we have a criminal problem.
What we need is stronger support for our police, not more hand-wringing about society. These officers have families waiting for them at home tonight. They have children who want their dads and moms to come home safe.
The real problem is that criminals no longer fear consequences for their actions. Soft-on-crime policies and anti-police rhetoric have emboldened thugs across America. When you demonize law enforcement, this is what happens.
Our police officers deserve our full support and respect, not lectures about society. They put their lives on the line every day while politicians make excuses for criminals. These five heroes were just doing their jobs when evil struck.
America stands with these wounded officers and their families tonight. We pray for their recovery and honor their service. Our police are the thin blue line that protects us from chaos, and we will never stop supporting them.
