President Joe Biden has gained a new primary challenger for the 2024 election, and it’s not just any challenger. This time, it’s a fellow Democrat who actually holds office! Rep. Dean Phillips, a congressman from Minnesota, announced his candidacy on Thursday, claiming that he can unite the party and the nation with his supposed moderate credentials. Phillips seems to be worried that Biden is on track to lose to Donald Trump, and he’s not going to sit idly by and watch that happen. And hey, he might have a point considering the competitive polling we’ve seen lately. But let’s not get too comfortable, my Republican friends. We won’t know for sure how the public will respond to Trump’s possible guilty verdict(s) next year until it actually happens – if it happens.

Now, what makes this whole situation even more interesting is the person reportedly behind Phillips’ campaign: Steve Schmidt, the co-founder of The Lincoln Project, known for his late-night online meltdowns. Talk about a “red flag”! Schmidt may have the fancy credentials, but when it comes to game time, he’s sure to bring embarrassment. Trusting a co-founder of The Lincoln Project to win any race is like trusting Vanderbilt football to win the Super Bowl. Spoiler alert: it’s not happening. And to add fuel to the fire, Phillips is centering his campaign in New Hampshire, the state that lost its first-in-the-nation primary status after Biden and the DNC colluded to put South Carolina first. Looks like Phillips is trying to drive a wedge through the primary process and cause some headaches for ol’ Joe.
Now, let’s not get carried away here. Phillips may not be a serious threat, but he could definitely cause some problems for Biden, especially since he’s already in office. And you know the Democrat establishment won’t be happy about this. Get ready for lots of consternation from their side. Buckle up folks, the 2024 primary just got a whole lot more interesting!
