Another senseless act of violence has struck the bustling streets of New York City as multiple people were shot at a subway station in the Bronx on Monday evening. It’s a tragic situation that could have been prevented if everyone just followed the rules! NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations Kaz Daughtry announced the heartbreaking news that one person was killed and five others were injured, and the suspect is still on the loose. The NYPD is on the hunt, and you can bet they won’t stop until they catch the culprit! Deputy Commissioner Daughtry took to social media to declare that the perpetrator is now NYPD’s MOST WANTED, and they’ll stop at nothing to bring them to justice. The chaos unfolded a little before 4:40 p.m. Eastern at the Mount Eden subway station in the Bronx, and it’s clear that this was not a random act of violence. NYPD officials believe it all started when two groups of teenagers got into a scuffle on the northbound 4 train. And let’s not forget, this all happened during rush hour! People started running for cover as the train pulled into the Mount Eden station, and that’s when the shots rang out, hitting innocent victims on the platform. What a nightmare! We need to crack down on these hooligans causing trouble on public transportation, and fast!

The victims in this cowardly attack ranged in age from 14 to 71 years old, with a 34-year-old tragically losing their life. This is so devastating, and it’s a stark reminder that we need to do more to keep our communities safe. Mayor Eric Adams has been briefed on the incident and stressed that this attack is not believed to be random. We need leadership that will take a tough stance on crime and not downplay the severity of the situation. Governor Kathy Hochul has directed the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to support the NYPD during their investigation, and we’re grateful to the first responders who are working tirelessly to address this horrifying situation. It’s time to stand up against these lawless acts and demand a safer New York City for all its residents!
