Buck Fights Impeachment Fever: Biden’s Ally in GOP Ranks?

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki recently sat down for an interview with U.S. Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), who boldly argued that an impeachment inquiry into President Biden is lacking any substantial evidence. Buck has been tirelessly defending President Biden against potential impeachment, and he sees House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) push for proceedings as nothing more than a distraction.

Psaki didn’t waste any time and immediately brought up U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA) previous statements, where she adamantly declared she wouldn’t vote to fund the government until an impeachment inquiry into President Biden was launched. However, Greene now seems to have changed her tune as the September 30 deadline approaches. In a surprising shift, Greene wrote in a recent post that Congress should vote for an impeachment inquiry but not rush into an impeachment vote.

Buck firmly rejected Greene’s call for an inquiry, highlighting the fact that she filed articles of impeachment against Biden just days after he took office. In his interview with Psaki, Buck called it absurd to think that Greene is now an impeachment expert or that she should dictate the timing of impeachment. He firmly believes that the time for impeachment is when there is concrete evidence of President Biden’s involvement in a high crime or misdemeanor, which, according to Buck, is nonexistent at this point. He emphasizes the importance of allowing the facts to guide the decision-making process.

But as expected, Greene didn’t take Buck’s comments lightly. In response, she questioned when Buck would finally declare his allegiance to the Democratic Party and criticized his unwavering support for Joe Biden. Greene even suggested that perhaps Buck is eagerly hoping for a favor from President Biden in return for his relentless shilling.

On top of their clash over impeachment, Buck and Psaki have recently sparred over Buck’s defense of the Biden Department of Justice’s handling of January 6 defendants. Buck penned a letter defending the DOJ’s supposedly one-sided prosecution, falsely claiming that individuals were held for prolonged periods without charges. Additionally, he argued that prisoners have not been mistreated in the D.C. jail. However, Buck conveniently omitted the fact that the same rigorous standards were not applied to far-left extremists who were responsible for the multiple building burnings and attacks on the White House in 2020.

It’s clear that Buck isn’t backing down from his support of President Biden, fervently denying the need for an impeachment inquiry until substantial evidence arises. Whether you agree with his stance or not, it’s refreshing to see a politician boldly standing by his convictions and challenging his fellow Republicans when necessary. Buck’s consistent defense of Biden may not earn him favor with some within the GOP, but it’s a testament to his commitment to his principles.
