The mask is off, folks. As President Trump delivered his State of the Union address—a moment that should highlight American strength and unity—several Democratic lawmakers couldn’t even keep their eyes open. The nation tuned in, ready to hear a message from the Commander-in-Chief. Democrats? Apparently, they took it as nap time.
It’s disgraceful to watch elected officials, paid by the American taxpayer, showing this level of disrespect. Americans everywhere sacrifice, work late nights, and keep this country running. But when it’s time for Democrats to sit up and do their jobs, they start counting sheep. And let’s not pretend this was just a random yawn. At least one top Democrat, Rep. David Scott, was spotted clearly snoozing as President Trump laid out his vision for the nation. What message does that send to the American people?

It shows exactly what conservatives have been saying all along: today’s Democrat Party is out of touch, too old, and full of career politicians who would rather doze off than listen to America’s real problems. These are the same people who talk about “defending democracy” but can’t bother to stay awake for a State of the Union. They’ll fight for globalist interests. They’ll sprint to the microphone to push more reckless spending. But when it’s time to actually show up and listen to the will of the people, their energy runs out.
This is what happens when politicians get too comfortable in Washington. They forget who sent them there in the first place. Instead of listening to American families, they’re busy daydreaming about their next CNN appearance—or worse, literally dreaming while the world watches. The cameras don’t lie. America saw it. And no, you can’t blame this on jet lag or a long day. Their job is to show up. If you can’t stay awake for the country, you shouldn’t be representing it.
Maybe if the State of the Union were about another Trump impeachment or sending more money overseas, these Democrats would’ve perked right up. Instead, when the focus shifts to American values and securing our borders, it’s lights out. This is the liberal cowardice and incompetence conservative America is sick of. If Democrats can’t stay awake, maybe it’s time America wakes up—and votes every single one of them out.
