CBS has finally admitted its mistake in editing an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. In the interview, Margaret Brennan, the host of Face the Nation, asked Harris if she was ready to step up as president if something were to happen to Joe Biden. This question drew attention to the concerns from Republicans about Biden’s age and whether Harris is prepared to take on the role of commander in chief.

The contrast between Biden and Harris’s age was highlighted in a longer clip that CBS initially chose not to air. Brennan also mentioned the attacks from Republican candidates, including Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, and Ron DeSantis, who all expressed concerns about Harris potentially becoming president. Harris defended herself by pointing out her past achievements as a career prosecutor, district attorney, attorney general, and senator. She argued that Republicans are attacking her because they fear her and Biden’s successful work for the American people.
While the incorrect version was shown to a large audience on broadcast, CBS quickly rectified the situation by streaming the corrected version on CBS News Live and sharing it on social media.
Once again, the mainstream media has shown its bias against Republicans by selectively editing an interview to protect Vice President Harris. CBS’s admission of this mistake is a small step towards accountability, but the damage has already been done. It is clear that the media is trying to shield Harris from tough questions about her qualifications to be president. Republicans have legitimate concerns about Biden’s age and Harris’s ability to lead the country, and those concerns deserve to be aired and addressed. The American people deserve unbiased reporting, not partisan manipulation.
