It seems the Democrats are having a tough time digesting a recent CBS poll, which shows that President Donald Trump is enjoying a surprising surge in popularity, even as they continue to throw tantrums about him. Versus the start of his presidency in 2017, Trump’s approval rating has shot up to 53 percent, with a 47 percent disapproval rating. As if that wasn’t enough to put a burr under the Democrats’ saddles, he’s doing particularly well with demographics they thought they owned, like young people and even a good chunk of Hispanics.
Voters are giving Trump’s immigration policies a hearty thumbs-up, supporting his plans to deport illegal immigrants and even send troops to the U.S.-Mexico border. Good luck finding the liberal talking heads who weep on social media over such policies in light of this positive feedback. Celebrities like Selena Gomez had their crocodile tears flow mighty strong recently, but it seems they’re swimming upstream against a current of public support for Trump’s immigration agenda—the very same promises he made during his campaign that seem to be paying off now.

The CBS poll highlights the fact that Trump has maintained a net positive approval rating, particularly regarding mass deportations, with approval coming from 66 percent of men, 53 percent of women, and even 49 percent of Hispanics. Democrats may have thought they could count on these groups, but it appears they might be in for a rude awakening. Perhaps they missed the memo that disapproving of Trump’s policies isn’t exactly a winning ticket with the majority of Americans.
Just in case anyone was wondering, The Hill attempted to rain on Trump’s parade by reporting on judicial setbacks regarding his executive orders. Yet, it would appear that their coverage played more like a brief announcement in comparison to the extensive support Trump has for his immigration approach. The media glare seems a bit selective when assessing Trump’s approval, almost as if they’re trying to spin the narrative their way. The reality is that viewers—unlike their media elite counterparts—appreciate Trump for delivering on his promises and maintaining a vigorous approach to governance.
And in a stunning twist that would make any Democratic strategist cringe, young voters surveyed showed a split approval rating of 55-45 percent in favor of Trump. Historically, this is impressive for a Republican, suggesting the Democrats could be losing their grip on the youth vote. If something doesn’t change soon, the party might have to reconsider their approach to swaying younger generations who have become disillusioned with their inability to deliver on promises of opportunity and prosperity.
In summary, the recent CBS News poll couldn’t have delivered better news for Trump’s supporters. The numbers reveal that he is resonating well across demographics, breaking some of the left’s most cherished narratives along the way. With his approval on the rise, particularly among young voters, it remains to be seen just how long the Democrats will contort themselves to maintain a narrative that may no longer hold water. The American public seems to have had enough of the drama, and they’re ready to see the things they want actually happen.
