Christie Slams Trump: Fearful of GOP Debates?

Chris Christie, a former governor of New Jersey, criticized Donald Trump after the president suggested that he might not participate in the upcoming Republican primary debates. During a Fox & Friends interview, he stated that primary voters should be allowed to see all of the candidates running for the White House regardless of their polling numbers. He also called on Trump to defend his record.

In response to Donald Trump's statement about not wanting to participate in debates, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said that he was the toughest candidate to lead the country. He also plugged his own website for donations.

This isn't the first time that Chris Christie has criticized Donald Trump. During an interview with Bill Hemmer, the former governor got into a bit of a meltdown after the anchor noted that Trump was "crushing it" in the polls. Hemmer then asked if voters would want to see a Trump critic like him in the primary election. After trying to ignore Trump, Christie focused his attention on Joe Biden.

According to Christie, Trump's policies did not improve the situation at the border. He noted that the president did not keep his promise to build a border wall with Mexico. The former governor also criticized Trump for not passing any immigration legislation during his first two years in office.

Although it's not the first time that he has criticized Donald Trump, Chris Christie's criticism of the president's refusal to participate in debates is still valid. Republican primary voters should be allowed to see all of the candidates running for the White House regardless of their polling numbers. Trump has an obligation to make a case for the country's future and defend his record.
