2024 presidential candidate Chris Christie took a swing at former President Donald Trump, referring to him as “a convicted felon” and questioning whether the American people really want someone with that kind of background to be their president again. Well, you have to hand it to Christie for not holding back! The former governor of New Jersey is certainly not pulling any punches in his bid to dethrone Trump in the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential primary race.
However, it seems like Christie might have his work cut out for him. Despite his strong anti-Trump stance, the former president is still way ahead in the polls. But hey, in politics, anything can happen, right? So let’s not count Christie out just yet.
During an appearance on CNBC, Christie didn’t hold back, questioning the sanity of those Republicans who have suggested making Trump the speaker of the House. He went as far as calling them “jokers,” which definitely adds a touch of spice to his already fiery campaign. I’m sure those Republicans aren’t too thrilled with Christie’s colorful choice of words.
Chris Christie:
"Really we want a convicted felon to be president of the US?
And you have some jokers on the Hill yesterday saying let's make him Speaker. Who are these people?" pic.twitter.com/TE81nq1yJq— Republicans against Trump (@RpsAgainstTrump) October 4, 2023
But wait, there’s more! Fellow 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy seemed to entertain the idea of making Trump the House speaker, claiming that it “isn’t crazy” and that Congress needs to shake things up. Oh boy, it sounds like the 2024 race is getting even more interesting by the minute.
As for Trump, he has denied any interest in becoming House speaker, stating that his focus is solely on winning the 2024 presidential election. Well, at least he’s got his priorities straight!
Now, let’s not forget about the competition. Besides Christie and Ramaswamy, Trump is up against Governor Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and Senator Tim Scott, to name just a few. With Trump leading the pack in the primary, it looks like we might be in for a rematch between him and President Joe Biden. Get your popcorn ready, folks!
In other news, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is currently running in the Democratic Party’s primary race for the 2024 presidential election, might be switching tickets and running as an independent. Kennedy dropped a bombshell in a video announcement, revealing that he plans to make a major announcement in Philadelphia on October 9. Well, well, well, it seems like the 2024 race just got a whole lot more interesting. Stay tuned, folks!
