Clarence Thomas, the most conservative justice on the Supreme Court, has made the hard choice to stay out of a case that has to do with what happened on January 6th. For months, people on the left have been putting constant pressure on the court and its conservative majority to do something that will hurt their reputation.

The left has been trying very hard to link Thomas to the "insurrection" at the Capitol through his wife Ginni Thomas's work with the "Stop the Steal" movement. Also, they've been making a big deal out of Thomas' friendship with a Republican donor, calling him dishonest and asking that he be removed from certain cases, including those related to January 6th.
In this case, the court turned down the appeal of John Eastman, a lawyer and constitutional scholar who helped President Trump when he tried to question the 2020 election. The left has said that Eastman planned what they call a "coup" by Trump.
In a strange twist, Congress changed the law last year to make it clear that Eastman's reading of the Electoral Count Act was wrong. Eastman told Trump that Vice President Mike Pence could question the election results. But people on the left keep calling Eastman names and treating his legal advice as if it were illegal.
Even went so far as to say that some of Eastman's emails were not covered by attorney-client privilege because he and Trump "more likely than not" broke the law. This egregious violation of the basic rules of the court system is a clear example of how hard the left is trying to make everyone connected with Trump look bad.
Eastman is now being followed with criminal charges in Georgia for just giving his client legal advice. He could also lose his license to practice law in California. The left's never-ending campaign of "lawfare" against Trump and his friends is truly unprecedented.
In spite of years of exaggerated media portrayals of Trump as a planner of sedition, he has not been charged with sedition or "insurrection" in any of the four criminal charges he is currently facing. Still, Eastman, like Trump, keeps saying that the election was rigged.
This whole mess shows how desperately the left tries to silence any views that disagree with them and how little they care about the rules of a fair and just legal system. They have put a lot of pressure on Thomas and have been attacking Eastman nonstop, which shows they are afraid of conservatives taking over the courts. We need to protect the rights of people who dare to disagree with the left's story and the credibility of the Supreme Court.
