In a recent blunder, CNN made a colossal mistake while attempting to draw comparisons between investigations into former President Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. True to their usual style, the network got everything wrong, which is hardly surprising considering their track record of biased reporting on anything related to Trump.

CNN turned to former FBI official Andrew McCabe to explain the supposed "differences" between the two cases, shedding light on their journalistic shortcomings. It's worth recalling when House Speaker Kevin McCarthy confronted a CNN reporter for the network's decision to hire McCabe as a contributor. Now we understand why McCarthy raised concerns.
McCabe downplayed the seriousness of Clinton's actions, asserting that while the emails weren't technically "classified documents," they did contain sensitive information. He suggested that this somehow made a difference. During the conversation with Jake Tapper, Tapper likened Clinton's actions to a mere "breach of protocol," akin to a dress code violation at a State Dinner. McCabe, on the other hand, insisted that the Trump and Clinton cases were "equal" and that everything should be evaluated based on "evidence."
These assertions are blatantly false. In reality, Clinton escaped consequences despite committing one of the most significant security breaches in U.S. history by using a private email server for official business, which included actions that were clearly criminal. In contrast, Trump faced FBI scrutiny even before taking office due to baseless allegations of Russian collusion.
Furthermore, let's not forget that McCabe himself lacks credibility, having been fired for "lacking candor" according to Inspector General Michael Horowitz. The IG's report revealed that McCabe authorized FBI officials to disclose details about the Clinton Foundation probe to the press, contrary to policy regarding ongoing investigations. The report also concluded that McCabe was dishonest with investigators on multiple occasions, including during sworn testimony.
It is evident that CNN has abandoned any pretense of being a legitimate news source and has transformed into a mouthpiece for left-wing propaganda. It is embarrassing to witness how far they are willing to go to tarnish Trump's image while shielding their preferred political figures.
