CNN Host Admits Trump Leads Biden in Key Swing States

As the upcoming presidential election draws closer, many people are trying to figure out what the facts are and what is just speculation. It is clear that if a major news network like CNN is willing to acknowledge that President Joe Biden is not doing well, then it must be true.

The polling for the presidential election has been all over the place. According to an analysis, former President Donald Trump is leading ahead of the current president in crucial states, although the margin of victory varies widely.

When individual polls are looked at, it shows even more inconsistency and uncertainty. With all the information swirling around, even CNN is now making it easier for everyone to understand: Trump is ahead and Biden is behind in the states that matter the most.

On a recent episode of “Fareed Zakaria GPS” on CNN, host Fareed Zakaria provided a straightforward message to viewers: “As someone concerned about the possibility of a second Trump term, I think it’s best to be honest about reality.” Zakaria cautioned Democrats across the country by noting that “Trump is now leading in almost all the swing states.”

Zakaria mentioned issues like the conflict in Gaza and the economy have caused significant divisions within the Democratic party, a problem that Democrats are still working to resolve. Economic concerns, in particular, are holding back Biden, as the overall state of the economy affects people across all political beliefs.

The CNN host also discussed polls that do not look favorable for Biden, especially among progressive Democrats. He emphasized that polls are not always accurate, but they have tended to underestimate Donald Trump’s support. There are additional concerns, such as third-party candidates and worries about Biden’s mental sharpness, that further diminish his chances in November.

According to Zakaria, the shift in public perception about who is more competent between Biden and Trump is troubling. In 2020, Biden led Trump by nine points, but in 2024, Trump now leads by 16 points. This significant shift could reflect people’s belief that the president’s age is affecting his ability to govern.

Zakaria’s conclusion is rather grim for Biden. He noted that “If so, there is very little that Biden can do to change that perception.” The trends are not in Biden’s favor, and he needs to take bold and dramatic actions to turn things around.

It’s too early to predict the outcome of the election, but it’s becoming clear that Biden’s path to victory is becoming more difficult. While no one can say for sure who will win in November, it is evident that the signs are pointing against Biden’s favor.
