In the recent debate on CNN, host Erin Burnett faced off with House Speaker Mike Johnson over the rights of pro-Hamas demonstrators at Columbia University. Burnett, showing her bias, seemed more concerned about the First Amendment rights of anti-Semitic protestors than the safety of Jewish students.

It is concerning that a mainstream media host would prioritize the rights of individuals spreading hate and inciting fear over protecting innocent students who are facing threats to their safety. This is unfortunately indicative of the media’s trend towards supporting divisive and harmful ideologies.
Speaker Johnson made a strong case for the need to hold universities accountable for ensuring the safety of all students, regardless of their background or beliefs. It is essential for campuses to be places of open dialogue and free exchange of ideas, but that cannot come at the expense of students’ safety and well-being.
It is refreshing to see conservative leaders like Speaker Johnson standing up for what is right and calling out the hypocrisy and bias in the media. The conservative viewpoint on this issue is clear: supporting hate speech and threats of violence has no place in our society, and universities need to do better in upholding their responsibilities to all students.
