The controversial children’s show CoComelon is once again at the center of a parenting uproar. This time, it’s not just about potential developmental issues, but about the promotion of cross-dressing and gayness to impressionable young minds.
The popular animated series, originally a YouTube channel before hitting the big time on Netflix, is facing backlash for an episode featuring a young boy dressed as a girl dancing for his two dads. As if that’s not enough, the show is also accused of steering kids toward addictive behavior, anger issues, and even developmental disorders like autism.

Parents have been taking to social media, using hashtags like #cocomelonisbad to spread the word about their concerns. They report that their children display addictive behaviors, throw tantrums when the show is turned off, and even show signs of speech delays and missed developmental milestones.
The show’s surge in popularity during the COVID-19 lockdowns has only added fuel to the fire, with some calling it “baby cocaine” and highlighting its potentially addictive nature. One viral TikTok account even claimed that the show’s editing creates overstimulation for kids, leading to even more concerning behaviors.
While Moonbug, the production company behind CoComelon, insists that their shows are not meant to replace outdoor playtime or other activities, parents are clearly not convinced. It seems like CoComelon may need to tread carefully if it wants to maintain its status as a children’s favorite without ruffling too many parental feathers.
It’s just another reminder that in today’s society, even innocent children’s shows can’t escape controversy and political correctness. Time will tell whether CoComelon will navigate this storm without losing its young audience or facing more parent pushback.
