Colorado Trains Thirst for Chaos, Spill Diesel in Eco Scare!

In the latest episode of “Trains Gone Wild,” a couple of locomotives from Great Western Railway decided to take a detour off the tracks in Colorado on Wednesday. But this wasn’t just any run-of-the-mill derailment. Oh no, these engines managed to puncture a fuel tank, unleashing hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel into the Colorado air. It’s a good thing there were no injuries, but the environment might not be so lucky.

Loveland Fire Rescue Authority swooped in like caped crusaders to contain the fuel and prevent it from polluting any pristine waterways. They even called in the hazmat remediation company just to make sure they left no room for error. And guess what? They succeeded! No waterways were harmed in the making of this accident.

And just when you thought one train derailment was enough for Colorado, think again! This is actually the second time in a little over a week that the Centennial State has been the stage for a locomotive meltdown. The last time, an Amtrak train got cozy with a milk truck and things went a little haywire. Three people got injured, including the engineer. But hey, who’s keeping track of these things anyway, right?

With all these train shenanigans going on, it might be time to invest in some extra strong rails. Or maybe just teach these trains to stay on track. But what can you do? It’s all part of the wild, wild ride of living in the land of the free and the home of the brave…and the occasional train derailment.
