There’s no mystery why Cubans are desperate for help right now. For nearly seventy years, they’ve endured a nightmare of communist rule. Broken promises. Empty grocery stores. Families torn apart or sent to rot in filthy prison cells just for daring to question their so-called “leaders.” Socialists always talk about equality, but in Cuba, everyone is equally miserable—except the elites clinging to power.
Right now, Cuban dissidents are looking north with something they haven’t felt in decades: hope. It’s no surprise. When President Trump took down the corrupt socialist regime in Venezuela, Cubans saw their neighbor’s tyrant fall and wondered, “Are we next?” Trump’s boldness set off alarms in Havana—and gave courage to everyday Cubans who are risking everything for freedom.

The brutal regime led by Diaz-Canel isn’t even hiding its repression anymore. Ordinary people get tossed in prison, beaten, or thrown into solitary confinement for the crime of wanting their vote to count. The Cuban government survives by snuffing out opposition, blocking protests, and turning the island into a giant open-air jailhouse. Human rights groups say hundreds—maybe close to a thousand—political prisoners are locked away for trying to speak their minds.
Meanwhile, American liberals are content to look the other way. They sip fancy drinks, wear Che Guevara shirts, and pretend Cuba is some left-wing paradise. Never mind the brutal crackdowns, the torture, the poverty, and the bodies that float up on Florida’s shores. Real people are suffering and begging for help—but do the globalist elites care? Not a chance. All they see is another Marxist experiment to cheer for on social media.
President Trump has already warned the Cuban regime that its time is up. He’s talking tough—hinting at a “friendly takeover” and putting America’s strength right back in the spotlight. The Cuban people are ready for change. The only question is: do we still have the backbone to stand up for liberty, or will we let the socialists win again?
