Woodward’s new book, titled “War,” paints an alarming picture of Biden’s mental state during events such as a fundraiser hosted by Microsoft’s chief tech guru, Kevin Scott, in Los Gatos, California. This gathering boasted 38 of the most influential Democratic donors who shelled out a staggering $2.7 million for Biden’s re-election campaign. Yet, party patrons reportedly described the president’s demeanor as “frighteningly awful,” reminiscent of an “87-year-old senile grandfather” awkwardly chatting up women in the room with compliments about their eyes.

The situation didn’t improve when Biden attended another fundraiser at the Four Seasons in New York City. Attendees there witnessed an even more alarming display. Biden struggled so significantly that he could not remember the word “veteran” and had to ask guests for help in identifying someone who had served in the armed forces. For a room full of prominent Democrats, this undoubtedly raised eyebrows and may have sparked some panic about the effectiveness of the party’s leading candidate.

Attendees described the proceedings as “painful,” noting that he frequently failed to complete his sentences.
