Out of a whopping 113 candidates surveyed, only a measly fraction are standing by Jeffries. And who could blame the 57 fence-sitters? They see the weakness, the failed handling of government shutdowns, and the abysmal strategy Jeffries has laid out. The Democrats are in disarray, unable to unite under a leader who has proven time and time again that he’s out of touch.
Let’s get real about the people challenging Jeffries. These aren’t just any fresh faces. They’re well-funded progressives ready for an insurgency who can’t stomach Jeffries’ leadership. They’re even making waves in districts that are ripe for flipping. From refusing to endorse local candidates to failing to back up his own base, Jeffries’ leadership—or lack thereof—is a train wreck.
Democrats are headed for a showdown, and Jeffries is the poster child of their dysfunction. As things stand, his leadership is crumbling.
