Another tragic shooting has rocked Minneapolis, and once again the liberal machine is cranking up their tired old playbook. Instead of looking at real solutions, Democrats are screaming for more gun control laws that simply do not work. Carl Higbie hit the nail on the head when he called out the screeching liberal women demanding we strip away Second Amendment rights from law-abiding Americans.
The shooter in Minneapolis had an AR-15, a shotgun, and a pistol. So what exactly are these new gun laws going to change? Criminals do not follow laws, and they never will. This basic fact seems to escape every Democrat politician and activist who thinks another piece of paper will magically stop evil people from doing evil things.
While liberals waste time pointing fingers at guns, they ignore the real problems plaguing our cities. Mental health crisis, breakdown of the family, and soft-on-crime policies have created a perfect storm of violence. But Democrats would rather blame an inanimate object than admit their failed policies are destroying American communities.
Look at what President Trump accomplished in Washington DC in just over a week. Over 1,000 arrests, more than 100 illegal guns seized, and carjackings down 86 percent. Robberies dropped 47 percent, and the city went 12 straight days without a homicide. This is what real leadership looks like, not empty promises about gun control.
The left cannot stand that Trump’s tough approach actually works. They would rather see Americans suffer under crime waves than admit conservative solutions save lives. Their hatred for Trump blinds them to the obvious truth that enforcing existing laws works better than creating new ones.
Why should hardworking Americans give up their constitutional rights because criminals break the law? Law-abiding gun owners are not the problem, and they should not be punished for the actions of violent criminals. The Second Amendment protects all our other rights, and we must never let emotional liberals chip away at our freedoms.
Democrats love to exploit tragedies to push their anti-gun agenda. They care more about scoring political points than actually solving problems. If they really wanted to stop violence, they would support proven methods like Trump’s crime crackdown instead of useless feel-good measures.
The choice is clear for Americans who want real safety and security. We can either follow Trump’s successful model of law and order, or we can listen to liberal politicians who have failed every city they control. The results speak for themselves, and no amount of screeching will change the facts.
