Democrats Choose Illegal Migrants Over American Safety in Shocking Stunt

It’s getting harder to hide the truth: liberal lawmakers have traded their duty to protect American citizens for a performative loyalty to illegal migrants and soft-on-crime politics. On his program this week, Carl Higbie rightly called out the left for demanding ordinary Americans risk their safety while applauding policies that import danger into our neighborhoods. We won’t apologize for standing with law enforcement and with families who want safe streets, not virtue signals from coastal elites.

This week a delegation of House Democrats flew to El Salvador to pressure our government to “facilitate” the return of Kilmar Ábrego García, a man the administration says was deported after an operation that included alleged gang members. The trip was framed as a human-rights stunt by those who want headlines, even as critics question why taxpayer-funded officials are jetting overseas to lobby for someone removed as part of a broader enforcement sweep. Americans deserve to know whether their representatives are defending the rule of law or staging photo ops.

The background is damning: Ábrego García was removed on March 15 on a plane that carried people identified by authorities as tied to gangs, and the administration later admitted an administrative error in his case. While the left screams about due process now, many on the right remember years of Democratic tolerance for open borders that let criminal networks flourish in our cities. This isn’t a complex moral paradox — it’s a predictable result of decades of permissive policy and political cowardice.

Republicans were right to call out the spectacle. Homeland Committee Chairman Mark Green accused Democrats of wasting taxpayer dollars to defend a person the Justice Department and border officials say has gang ties, and demanded lawmakers pay their own way instead of grandstanding on the public dime. Voters should ask every member of Congress whether they’ll protect American families or spend their time on PR trips to defend people the government claims are dangerous.

This fight isn’t academic — it’s about real consequences in our neighborhoods. The same operations that removed hundreds of suspected gang members are the hard work of protecting citizens, and yet Democrats rush in to defend an individual allegedly swept up in those efforts while offering little sympathy for the victims of gang violence. If Democrats want to posture about rights, they should start by demanding accountability for the decades of soft-on-crime policies that made this moment possible.

Patriots don’t confuse compassion with surrender. We can care about due process while insisting on secure borders and consequences for criminal behavior, and we should insist that our leaders put Americans first — not the optics of a foreign press conference. It’s time to reward courage and common sense: back our law enforcement, fund border security, and eject the politicians who would have you risk your life for their political theater.
