Democrats Consider Extending Pardons to Hillary Clinton After Hunter Biden Controversy

The recent news about Bill Clinton discussing a potential preemptive pardon for Hillary Clinton reveals a lot about the current state of the Democratic Party and its tactics. With Joe Biden’s recent controversial pardon of Hunter Biden, it’s clear that the Biden administration has no qualms about bending the rules to protect its own, and now they seem to be considering extending that protective umbrella to other party stalwarts.

Biden’s pardon for Hunter not only wiped the slate clean for his son’s past indiscretions but also cleverly included a provision that shields him from any future legal troubles relating to activities that might implicate the president himself. This blatant abuse of presidential power sends a clear message: the Democrats are not just trying to protect their own, but they’re also attempting to manipulate the power of the executive branch to safeguard themselves against any conceivable fallout, particularly from the rising threat of Donald Trump. Not content with simply protecting Hunter, Biden’s administration appears poised to pardon even more Democratic players.

Among the names floated for future pardons is none other than Hillary Clinton. Bill Clinton’s comments on a recent episode of a popular daytime talk show suggest a deep worry within Democratic circles about accountability. Bill claimed that Hillary would have little to worry about because she “didn’t do anything wrong.” This offensive rhetoric glosses over the mountain of evidence implicating her in wrongdoing, particularly during her tenure as Secretary of State.

Clinton’s insistence that the accusations against Hillary were fabricated echoes the party’s strategy of downplaying scandals. His remarks seem to shield her from her email scandal, where evidence of mishandling classified information was not so conveniently dismissed. He might think that the passage of time has helped people forget about the infamous bleach-bitting of emails and dubious dealings surrounding the Clinton Foundation. Yet, the American public hasn’t forgotten, nor have they forgiven.

The underlying implication in Clinton’s words is a plea for a softer approach in the face of potential accountability. His hope that Trump wouldn’t go after Hillary reveals more about the fears gripping the Democratic elite than it does about actual justice. The jest about “playing nice” in politics heavily smacks of self-preservation, as if the Clintons want a free pass at the expense of principle and fairness.

If Biden truly plans to offer pardon to Hillary Clinton, it could raise serious questions about the lengths to which Democrats will go to protect their own. What will be the limits of this preemptive mercy? If Biden’s pardon of Hunter amounted to a bizarre legal coverage for 11 years of potential wrongdoing, how far would the administration stretch its definition of “mercy” to include someone as controversial as Hillary? As the Democrats cling to a narrative of being the mature and fair protectors of the law, such actions expose the ridiculous lengths they’re willing to go to in order to maintain their power.
