The Democrats have decided that running away is their latest strategy. Texas Democrats have fled the state instead of doing their jobs, dodging responsibility like a child dodging chores. All the while, Republicans in Texas try to fulfill their duty to pass a bill that represents the people’s will—an effort to gain fair representation that Democrats have chosen to undermine with their vanishing act. It’s about time someone called this out for the farce it is.

The Democrats’ escape to liberal strongholds like Chicago and Boston is nothing short of a political temper tantrum. Frustrated by legislation that could tilt the balance towards Republicans, these lawmakers have chosen to abandon their voters. All this, while sitting on their hands in states they’ve been led to believe offer them sanctuary. But now the FBI, acting in the interests of law and order, is stepping up to the plate, and about time too. Let’s be clear: this isn’t just about redistricting in Texas. It’s about democracy being held hostage by those who don’t agree with the rules.
Senator John Cornyn and President Trump are doing what many in the GOP only dreamed of—holding those who have abandoned their duty accountable. The Democrats talk a good game about constitutional responsibilities until they’re asked to abide by them. While the Democrats play hide and seek, Republicans are trying to move the country forward. But all we hear from the left is whining and empty rhetoric about kingdoms and constitutions.
These fleeing Democrats are hypocrites, plain and simple. They claim to care about democracy, but only when it suits their agenda. Meanwhile, GOP leaders are pushing forward, seeking to balance the scales and give Texans representation that truly reflects their values. It’s a fight for fairness that liberal lawmakers just don’t want to face.
If the Democrats think this little escapade sets a good example, they’re mistaken. They’ve chosen politics over people, cowardice over courage. Is this the future they want for America? A nation where lawmakers run and hide when they don’t get their way? Real leaders don’t flee. They stand, they fight, and they vote. Maybe the Democrats should try that approach for a change.
