Missouri Democrats put their foot down and told State Rep. Sarah Unsicker, “Nope, not gonna happen!” when she tried to throw her hat in the ring for governor. The Democratic Party dissed Unsicker, saying they don’t want nothin’ to do with her in the upcoming election. They straight up refused her filing fee and served up a cold rejection, like a scoop of ice cream hitting the floor. Ouch!
The Democrats laid it out in a memo obtained by Spectrum News, essentially telling Unsicker, “We ain’t associating with you, girl!” They pointed out that the House Democratic Caucus had already given Unsicker the boot, yanked her committee assignments, and even voted to kick her out of the club. Talk about being left out in the cold!
Unsicker got in hot water for her social media posts and chummin’ around with a guy known for spreading conspiracy theories and another fella who’s been accused of denying the Holocaust. That’s a major no-no in the Democratic Party’s book. The Democrats were all like, “We believe in inclusiveness, but not that kind of inclusiveness!”
And get this, Unsicker was so miffed about being told “thanks, but no thanks” that she tried to run for attorney general last year and then flipped the script to run for governor this year. It’s like she’s playin’ musical chairs with her political ambitions! Who does she think she is, anyway? Someone needs to sit her down and tell her she can’t just switch seats whenever she feels like it.
Now, House Minority Leader Crystal Quade is gunning for the governor’s seat as a Democrat, and she’s got some choice words for Unsicker. Quade admitted that Unsicker used to stand up for the little guy, but she went too far with the social media shenanigans. Quade was all like, “Hey, Unsicker, we’re all about respect and inclusiveness, not promoting wacky ideas and offensive stuff.”
The Washington Examiner tried to get the inside scoop from Unsicker, Quade, and the Missouri Democratic Party, but they all kept mum. Looks like this story’s got more twists and turns than a rollercoaster!
