Watching the Democrats these days is like witnessing a slow-motion car crash. The party of old, once touted as the bastion of diversity and inclusivity, is unraveling at breakneck speed. It seems the so-called “big tent” party has closed its doors to anyone not subscribed to the far-left playbook. This tailspin became glaringly obvious after the 2016 election when they turned into the party of “not-Trump.” In the wake of his presidency, they’ve become hell-bent on opposing anything and everything with his name attached, even if it means ignoring the good it might bring.
The Democrats have edged so far left they’ve fallen off the cliff, roping in radicals who drag the party further into oblivion. Their fixation on anything but Trump blinds them to the reality that they are no longer the party of the people. This self-inflicted ideological lock-down is making them unattractive to the very voters they claim to champion.
Take the case of Randi Weingarten, a long-time figure in the Democrat establishment. Shockingly, after years of cozying up to party elites, she finally questions the lack of inclusivity within her own ranks. It begs the question – where was this outrage when the Democrats were busy purging viewpoints that didn’t fit their narrative? Someone needs to remind these folks that you can’t be inclusive while shutting the door on those who dare to differ.
The Democrats’ hypocrisy runs deep. For years, they’ve presented themselves as the party of the downtrodden, embracing those from all walks of life. Yet, their obsession with inclusivity has ironically fostered exclusion. Anyone who dares to diverge from their groupthink finds themselves swiftly shown the exit. This isn’t a “big tent” party; it’s an echo chamber where dissent isn’t tolerated.
As the infighting intensifies, Democrats are scrambling to assign blame for their once-lofty pedestal crumbling beneath them. Perhaps a good long look in the mirror will reveal that it’s their own stubbornness driving them off the political cliff. Or perhaps they’ll continue to dodge accountability as usual. Because when has a leftist ever truly taken responsibility for their own mess?
