The Democrats are at it again, sounding the alarms about supposed costs they claim are hurting American families. Now they’re wringing their hands and claiming President Trump’s America First tariffs are going to empty everyone’s wallets by over $2,500 a year. This is classic liberal scare tactics. Every time a Republican president stands tall against foreign freeloaders, the left panics for their precious globalist pals and pretends to care about Joe and Jane Main Street.
Let’s be honest—these so-called “costs” only happen if America lets foreign countries walk all over us. For decades, the U.S. got the short end of every trade deal, with weak Democrats rolling out the red carpet for global interests. The second Trump puts his foot down and actually fights for American jobs, the Democrats throw a fit. Heaven forbid we expect China and Europe to play fair or pay their share.

Of course, when President Trump uses tariffs as a tool to rebuild our manufacturing and protect American workers, the left suddenly becomes a bunch of bean counters worried about household budgets. But when it’s their massive spending bills and tax hikes, those numbers magically don’t matter. The hypocrisy is staggering. If liberals cared so much about working families, they’d support policies that put Americans first instead of foreign lobbyists and their elite donors.
Now, the Supreme Court dared to strike down Trump’s biggest, boldest tariffs, and Democrats are celebrating. They’re happy to see the government lose billions in revenue that could have strengthened our economy and secured our future. Meanwhile, Trump is doing everything in his power to restore stability and make sure America isn’t at the mercy of China and other countries that don’t play fair. Funny how Democrats cheer when American power takes a hit—as if that’s anything to be proud of.
It’s not enough for Democrats to block Trump’s efforts to make America strong—they want to blame him for the fallout of their own weakness. They don’t want tough leadership. They want to surrender. But Americans see through their act. We need leaders who actually put America first, even if that means getting tough and upsetting the global cartel. Why should American families always pay the price for elite incompetence and cowardice on the world stage?
