Democrats’ Segregated Zoom Calls Fundraise for Harris Raise Eyebrows, Questions on Unity

The Democrats have clearly taken a lesson or two from their own messy history, and this time they’re putting on quite the show, albeit from the comfort of their own screens. In an effort to fundraise for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, the party seems to have rediscovered a peculiar way of rallying support: segregated Zoom calls. Yes, that’s right. In a twist that would make any civil rights activist spin in their grave, the party of “unity” is hosting racially and gender-segregated online gatherings that, one can only assume, are meant to play to their base while conveniently ignoring the irony.

The Democrats’ penchant for selective memory is astonishing. One would think that with the plethora of video evidence documenting their past missteps, they might reconsider avant-garde tactics that echo the party’s historically unsavory connection to segregation. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a monumental piece of legislation, passed against the backdrop of fierce resistance from the very party that now parades around claiming to champion equality. With a significant number of Democrats voting against it, even forming their own Dixiecrat faction to oppose integration, it’s baffling that they would so boldly attempt to rewrite their narrative.

Kicking off this latest episode of “How to Fundraise While Fumbling Basic Unity” was a Zoom call on July 21 for a group called “Win With Black Women.” This high-tech extravaganza claimed an astonishing 44,000 participants. Not to be outdone, “Black Men for Harris” followed suit the very next day, boasting a similarly impressive attendance figure. But it wasn’t just identity politics for the sake of fundraising; they even had a special participants’ club: “White Dudes for Kamala,” which featured a lineup of Hollywood elite and some of the most beta personalities the industry can offer. This event was reportedly aimed at showcasing their camaraderie, but one has to wonder if they’d get a better turnout if they just called it “Virtue Signaling 101.”

The participation numbers themselves are astounding. One might even suspect that the Democrats are stacking their Zoom rooms with inflated counts. The truly bizarre moment came during the “White Women for Kamala” call, which supposedly attracted a staggering 200,000 participants and raised about $8.5 million. It seems the e-wallets were flowing freely in this virtual setting, while the participants were treated to a lecture on ‘white privilege’ from social media influencer Arielle Fodor—highlighting the absurdity of needing to apologize for one’s skin color even among fellow supporters.

Here lies a crucial question that the party fails to address: why stick to virtual rallies? The optics of physical meetings would surely tell a different story—one fraught with the realization that their commitment to “diversity” might not actually mean comfort within the same space. The irony of a group advocating for equality while simultaneously creating groups segregated by race and gender is simply staggering, leaving even the most seasoned political observers scratching their heads in disbelief.

The Democrats are evidently doubling down on division, stitching together unlikely coalitions year after year, only to find themselves groping for meaning amid the Zoom chaos. It raises the imminent worry about where the party, and indeed, the country, is headed if their narrative continues to focus on disunity while preaching from their well-furbished ivory towers. The forthcoming Harris campaign might just find themselves scheduling more of these identity-themed Zoom rallies, where fundraising supersedes any genuine call for unity.
