Over a hundred House Democrats are pushing an agenda that is radical and misguided. They have demanded that President Joe Biden help illegal immigrants get work permits.
Over a hundred House Democrats, including Pramila Jayapal from Washington and Jerry Nadler from New York, urged Biden to use all the tools at his disposal to help the estimated 11 million immigrants who are living in the US illegally. They want him to provide them with a path to permanent residency and work legally.
Democrats are proposing treating people who are in the country illegally as if they were entitled to special treatment. This is akin to rewarding a cheater with a gold star after they've already cheated on a test. Those who followed the rules and worked hard should not be penalized.

The letter also complains about the delays in processing the work authorizations for asylum seekers. Although there are backlogs in the immigration court system, it does not excuse breaking the law, and it is not acceptable to give illegal immigrants work permits on a "silver-plated" basis.
Democrats also want to allow those who are seeking asylum to immediately apply for work authorization. This is a clear attempt to circumvent the legal process, which is designed to ensure that everyone is treated fairly. Doing so would only encourage more lawlessness and chaos.
Another issue that has been raised is the government's attempt to encourage illegal immigrants to apply for work permits even though they haven't done so yet. According to a report by the New York Times, the government has sent over a million text messages to illegal immigrants. What message does this send to the people who are in line and follow the rules?
Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, is a Democrat, and he knows the consequences of the illegal immigration policies that are currently in place. He said that the influx of immigrants will destroy the city. We have already seen how unchecked immigration can affect our communities, economy, and national security.
The radical left's agenda is out of touch with reality, as rewarding illegal immigrants with special privileges and work permits is not only unfair, but it also undermines our society's fabric. We need to build strong borders and enforce our laws, as anything less would lead to disaster.
