In a move that reeks of desperation, Hawaii State Senator Karl Rhoads has gone off the deep end and proposed a bill, Senate Bill 2392, to bar former President Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot. The audacity! Rhoads alleges that Trump incited the Capitol riots on January 6 and is now on a power trip to keep him out of the running. Can you believe the nerve of some politicians?

The bill, which passed its first reading on Monday (but let’s hope it doesn’t pass any more readings), would essentially ban anyone who supposedly violated the 14th Amendment from appearing on the ballot. While Rhoads conveniently doesn’t mention Trump by name, it’s crystal clear who this is all about. This shifty move follows similar garbage legislation in Maine and Colorado, showing a disturbing trend among Democrats to manipulate the election process.
If this hogwash bill gets the green light, it would “specify that election ballots … shall exclude any candidate who is disqualified under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.” And get this, it would also stop state electors from voting for anyone deemed “disqualified” under the 14th Amendment. It’s like they’re not even trying to hide their bias! They’re just making up the rules as they go along.
The bill, with the nerve to call itself “legislation,” also claims that the citizens of Hawaii deserve public servants of “integrity” and not people who “threaten democracy.” Talk about adding insult to injury! It’s clear that this is just another dirty political ploy to keep Trump out of the race. But hold on, let’s not forget that Trump has not been proven guilty of inciting any insurrection. So, what’s the beef here?
Sure, there have been some feeble attempts in states like Minnesota, Michigan, Arizona, and Oregon to block Trump from the ballot, but they all fizzled out like a wet firework. Even the Illinois State Board of Elections is still mulling over a challenge to Trump’s eligibility for the 2024 ballot. But mark our words, this sham of a bill from Senator Rhoads won’t hold up in the end. Let’s hope this nonsense gets shut down before it goes any further.
