DeSantis Calls Out Biden’s EV Crush, Stands with Iowa Farmers!

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has firmly opposed President Biden's drive for electric vehicles in an effort to win over farmers in Iowa. DeSantis underlined the significance of a robust farm sector for a stronger America in an opinion article for the Des Moines Register. He stated that the lack of affordability and impracticality of electric vehicles could threaten the viability of places like Iowa, which primarily rely on biofuels. DeSantis also voiced alarm about the potential dependence on China brought on by the increased use of electric automobiles.

DeSantis vowed to support Governor Kim Reynolds' demand for year-round sales of gasoline containing 15% ethanol as part of his attempts to help Iowa's farmers. In order to ensure that "Moms in Marion, not bureaucrats in Washington, are driving America's fuel economy," he vowed to safeguard liquid fuels and promote gasoline with higher ethanol blends. DeSantis also pledged to stop environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors from negatively affecting farmers while addressing China's acquisition of American farms and the theft of agricultural technology.

DeSantis also promised to eliminate rules that put farmers at a disadvantage, expand markets, update infrastructure, and protect the agriculture industry from cyber threats. He praised the inventiveness and productivity of Iowan farmers, saying that these traits, along with the correct political leadership in Washington, would help the country recover.

Naturally, DeSantis' Democratic rival Nikki Fried blasted his opinion piece and charged that he has never appreciated the significance of Florida agriculture. DeSantis's focus on Iowa, which will host the first GOP primary election in 2024, coincides with his campaign's emphasis there. It's interesting to note that the former president's team in Iowa apparently expressed worries about trailing rivals like DeSantis. The highly anticipated Iowa-Iowa State college football game will feature both DeSantis and Trump in attendance, underscoring the importance of the state in the political landscape.
