When he removed State Attorney Monique Worrell of the 9th Judicial Circuit on Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis did something brave. And let's just say it's about time someone did something about her lack of responsibility and lack of skill. It's clear that DeSantis wants to protect the people of Florida from the harmful effects of policies that are soft on crime.

DeSantis didn't hold back when he criticised Worrell's practises and policies, which he thinks let violent crooks get away with less punishment than they deserved. But who could blame him? It's very frustrating to see these crooks get away and put innocent people in danger in Orange and Osceola counties.

But here's the real kicker: Worrell is the second state attorney that DeSantis has suspended who was supported by George Soros. It seems like Soros likes to back politicians who aren't tough on crime. And let's not forget that a Soros group spent a ridiculous $1.5 million on ads in 2020 to help Worrell run for state attorney. What a way to buy power!
In his statement, DeSantis stressed that it is his job as Governor to make sure that the laws passed by the Legislature are followed. He could not have been more right. People in Central Florida need a State Attorney who will put justice first and follow the law instead of letting violent criminals walk the streets looking for their next victim.
During his speech, DeSantis gave cases that showed how dangerous Worrell's lenient policies have been for Floridians. It's clear that her attitude towards crime has put people's lives at risk, and it's high time for someone to step in and bring law and order back.
Worrell was suspended, so DeSantis chose former judge Andrew Bain to be the new State Attorney. Bain has a lot of knowledge because he was an Orange County judge in the same 9th Judicial Circuit. With his impressive academic background, which includes a law degree from Florida A&M University College of Law, there is no question that he is the right person for the job.
In the end, DeSantis's swift action against Monique Worrell shows that Florida won't stand for weak law enforcement. It's a win for people and for fairness. Let's hope this is a wake-up call for other politicians who put the interests of liberal billionaires ahead of the safety of their own voters.
