Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida is losing ground in the important battleground state of New Hampshire, and it’s not looking good for him. According to a recent CNN-University of New Hampshire survey, DeSantis is now in fifth place among likely Republican primary voters, with only 10% of their support. Ouch! This is quite a drop from July when DeSantis was riding high at 23% and was seen as a serious contender to former President Donald Trump.

But it seems like DeSantis’s star is fading, while others are rising. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has taken over the second-place spot with 13% support. And that’s not all – former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is close behind with 12%, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is not far behind her with 11%. Meanwhile, Senator Tim Scott is at 6%, and former Vice President Mike Pence is way down at 2%. Looks like DeSantis is going to have to step up his game if he wants to stay in this race.
Now, let’s talk about Vivek Ramaswamy for a moment. This political newcomer is really making waves. Not only is he polling well in New Hampshire, but he’s also been consistently placing second in national surveys. That’s impressive for someone who’s just getting started. Ramaswamy’s campaign team says he’s only getting warmed up. Well, I can’t wait to see what he does next.
It’s important to note that New Hampshire is a key battleground state for Republican presidential hopefuls. Candidates campaign there early and often because they know how crucial it is. And with the Democratic National Committee trying to shake things up by changing its nominating calendar in 2024, the contest date in New Hampshire is up in the air. But Secretary of State David Scanlan has made it clear that he’ll fight to keep New Hampshire as the first primary state. Good for him! We need to hold on to our traditions and keep New Hampshire at the forefront of the political conversation.
